Because you're reading this I'm assuming that you are either beginning a new internet marketing business, thinking about it, or you already have one, but it isn't going exactly as you planned. No matter what stage of development your business is in, I believe I can assist you in making it better, with simple exercises that you can do right now.
My business advice may seem a little unusual, but you will understand my method as we go along. Trust me!
I believe it is important to begin at the beginning so we'll start with the basics for this first issue. An important first step to any serious venture in life is knowing yourself. I know that sounds simple, but I mean really knowing yourself.

Why did you decide to come into this business in the first place? Think about that for a moment. The potential perks offered in internet marketing are endless! But we all have different goals. Some of us want to travel, while some simply want that one dream home, and others just want a little extra income. My advice to you is that you make a list of specific goals for yourself, and put deadlines on those goals. I also suggest that you write out these goals so they are solidified in your mind and you have even more commitment to obtaining them. As you think about reaching your goals, think about how you will "feel" at that time. This is very important because it will motivate you all the more and increase your positive energy focus toward reaching your goals!
Do not underestimate the importance of goal-setting.
Next, make a list of every tool, skill, asset, resource, finances, particular knowledge, anything at all that you have access to that could possibly help you succeed with your business. Don't forget people. I promise you that these lists will be useful now and in the future. Please be patient with me - this list is very, very important.
Now you should make a list of everything and everyone that you are grateful for.
One last list, and that is one of all of your interests, or at least your favorites. List whatever you can think of. Now if you were honest and true to yourself as you made your lists, then you have created some wonderful tools that you can use in many ways.
You should read and update your lists often - your gratitude list should be read daily. Reading your goals should reinforce a confident "feeling" in you. Remember to visualize how it will "feel" to reach each of those goals as you read them. When you read over your resources, question whether you are using each to its fullest extent. Your gratitude list should create a warm, fuzzy feeling inside of you. Don't just read that list. Really "feel" grateful for each item you've listed. As you think about your interests, try to determine if a business could be built around any of them. Your work will be much more fun if you can develop a business that focuses on one of your interests.
Your business will have more meaning to you if you view it as the vehicle that will lead to the realization of your goals. Think about that for a moment because the meaning is deep.
Do you see now how useful these lists will be? Giving gratitude creates positive energy which is essential to have when pursuing important endeavors. Being aware of the resources on hand helps to keep you on track.
These lists will help anyone, regardless of their situation in life.
I'm sure that success for your business is one of your goals. Commit to your goals. Focus on them. Think about them. "Feel" them! Keep negativity to a minimum in your life. Give gratitude. Keep positive energy flowing. Remember, you are on the road to making your dreams come true! If you really "feel" your success now, you will achieve it!
It's not important at this point that you know the specifics of how you will reach your goals, only that you know what your goals are, believe and feel that you will succeed, and put forth effort toward achieving your goals. You will be inspired along the way...answers will come!
No matter what niche or sub-niche you decide on you will need a plan. I also suggest that you have a mentor or a coach. I am not necessarily suggesting that you hire someone to work with you one-on-one, but for some people that is the only way they can stay focused. Other people will do just fine by following along with a purchased program that describes a plan or even an ebook that details a plan. Some people are able to read ebooks and then develop their own plans.
However you choose to go about this I strongly encourage you to start with a real business plan and to seek out others in the field that you admire. You can then read documents written by or endorsed by those individuals and learn from them - why re-invent the wheel? As you progress with your own business and develop expertize you can then 'go your own way' and perhaps even sell a unique plan of your own. You will find out very soon that knowledge is power!
